c.1933 Marx, Combination Thrift Dial Bank in Original Box #2
Awesome pressed steel combination bank in unused, mint condition. Complete with original box, insert, and combination instructions. Following the design of a real combination safe it features a latching door with separate rotating dial. It's painted scarlet red with a light blue door and features its original Thrift Dial Bank decal on the front. On the underside are two pairs of original wooden castor wheels on metal axles. Original box includes the name and address of the manufacturer, name of the toy, and the earliest Marx logo. Original combination directions were still attached to the bank when it was removed from the box. The instructions are stained in the center because it was laying on one of the axles. It also has its original cardboard insert. Beautiful, heavy and solid piece! Size: 4½" x 2½" x 3". Sold: Nov. 2005
